Professor Callaghan pulled herself through the portrait hole, her face lighting up as the common room she hadn't visited in years was illuminated in front of her. She smiled. This was her house now... that had a certain ring to it. Her house.

She walked across the room to the armchair that had always been her favorite - just to left of the fire, but far enough away to where her legs didn't get scorched every time she sat down. She pulled out a copy of The Daily Prophet and began reading, happy to be where she was.

Caroline ran down the spiral staircase from her dormitory to the common room. She was racing her cat Ludwig and was loosing terribly. She careened into the common room and tripped over an ottoman. She landed kind of curled up on her back and sat up slowly, in a daze. She was mortified to be directly facing her head of house. She blushed.
