Riku Mitsuho.

Appearance: Brown hair and eyes, Riku is a bit taller then the typical 11 year old. Riku often wears a small black string around his left wrist.

Born in Japan, Raised in Britain, Riku learns of his Wizarding heritage from a letter sent from Hogwarts. He grew up as an orphan in Muggle, London. He never knew much about his parents except for the fact they came from Japan with him around the time he was born. The day Riku had gotten his letter, his birthday,he couldn't stop reading it. He was amazed but always knew there was something special about himself. Looking back down at the parchment, he decided to read it again:

Dear Riku Mitsuho,

We are pleased to inform you that you have accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Term begins on the 1st of September. We await your owl no later then the 2nd of August.

He was worried about how he would write back. He didn't have an owl to write a letter back. If he would have know he would have wrote back using the owl the school had sent with his letter. What was more worrisome was the fact that he had no money to buy any of his school items. The items:

Uniform:
First year students will require:

* Three sets of plain work robes (black)
* One plain pointed hat (black) for day wear
* One pair of protective gloves (dragon hide or similar)
* One winter cloak (black, silver fastenings)

Please note that all pupils' clothes should carry name tags.

Set Books:
All students should have a copy of each of the following:

* The Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1) by Miranda Goshawk
* A History of Magic by Bathilda Bagshot
* Magical Theory by Adalbert Waffling
* A Beginners' Guide to Transfiguration by Emeric Switch
* One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore
* Magical Drafts and Potions by Arsenius Jigger
* Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them by Newt Scamander
* The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection by Quentin Trimble

Other Equipment:

* 1 wand
* 1 cauldron (pewter, standard size 2)
* 1 set glass or crystal phials
* 1 telescope
* 1 set brass scales


Students may also bring and owl, cat or toad.

PARENTS ARE REMINDED THAT FIRST YEARS ARE NOT ALLOWED THEIR OWN BROOMSTICKS!

Riku wondered why brooms were even a concern to the school, it's not like they were janitors in training. "Plus, don't they have magic to lean the schools?" Riku thought to himself. He paced his room room out of excitement and fear. There was so many questions he had, he felt as though all of this would make him explode. Riku sat down then looked up, to his amazement someone was standing in front of him. He wasn't like anyone you would meet in London, he had a beautiful grayish black robe. It resembled a suit you would see someone wearing to work. This man was tall with red hair and wore box shaped glasses. Behind his glasses were two light brown eyes. Riku finally stopped staring and asked "Who are you?". The man chuckled and said "My name's Frank, I work with the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. I'm supposed to help you get started for Hogwarts." Frank took out a small thin tree branch from his pocket. "First things, first." he said looking at Riku, "Do you accept your invitation to Hogwarts school of Witch craft and wizardry?" Riku looked up and replied: "Yes, I do sir.". Frank smiled and said "Excellent, I'll send your reply." And with one swish of a wand, an owl appeared. He quickly took out a small a piece of parchment, ink, & a quill and jotted something down quickly. He then attached that same parchment on to the owl and sent it through the window. Frank explained a few things to Riku about Hogwarts and how to get into Diagon ally. He gave Riku directions to the wizarding pub that connected with Diagon ally and some wizarding money. He explained a few details about the money and how it differed from Muggle money. When Frank finished he told Riku he had to get back to the Ministry, he had work to do. Riku thanked him and before he knew it the Wizard Frank was gone....
