Personality traits/ Character Attributes: Emily is very intelligent, loyal to those she loves and respects and mostly easy to get along with. She is the ringleader of her group of friends and is always the one to attempt to sort out their problems which will occasionally make things worse. She is brave with only one great fear - of the dark. Emily loves to laugh and will often make the best of a bad situation with her great (yet on occasion very strange) sense of humour. Emily is cunning and will often do whatever it takes to make her friends and herself come out on top. Her friends never quite understood how that always seemed to happen. It was a mixture of her charm, wit and out-of-control magic. She loves to learn and has a specific interest in Defense Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration and History of Magic. She is however very excited about all her lessons at Hogwarts. She is particularly looking forward to second year when she can try out for Beater on her House Quidditch Team.

Family Information: Emily is of direct decent of the Black family, specifically the granddaughter of Sirius Black. Her maternal grandmother, Eloise Kane, was a Muggle - one of Sirius' one-night stands. She never informed him of their daughter. Her mother, Ophelia Kane was eleven when she received her Hogwarts letter and found out about the wizarding world. It was at this time that she learnt of her father's true identity. She chose not to follow in her father's famous footsteps and became a Ravenclaw. Ophelia was twenty-one when she had Emily and had changed her name to Black the year before. They moved to Australia with Eloise just after Emily was born. Ophelia was a single mother until Emily was seven when she was married to James Lepton, a Squib from a lesser known wizarding family. Emily's real father was never mentioned in the house due to her grandmother's disappointment in Ophelia and her stepfather's willingness to treat Emily as his own. Emily begged to keep her surname of Black. She grew up in a world of magic and was not surprised when she received her Hogwarts letter having already shown various magical skills. Unlike her mother, Emily wants to be a Gryffindor mostly but thinks that her characteristics may lead her to become a Slytherin.

Background: Grew up in a wealthy home in Perth with her mother, grandmother and stepfather. She has two younger brothers, one four and the other two. After her grandmother died the family moved back to England, Surrey where Emily was born.

Pet: A Scops owl named Flit.
